The internship in short

The programme kicks off with an engaging Introduction Week, where you’ll get to know SEB, meet professionals across the CIB division, get to know other interns and start building your network. During the introduction you will participate in learning and networking activities. We wrap up the experience with a Closing Day to reflect on, share, and celebrate your internship journey.
As an intern, you are recruited to a specific job role where you will be involved in daily business activities and have a great opportunity to explore the environment of banking. You will be guided by at least one tutor during your internship.

As a summer intern in Data, Analytics & Reporting (DAR), you will become part of Investor Services and work alongside colleagues who are developing how we use data, reporting, analytics, AI and automation across our business.
Investor Services provides post-trade products and services to banks and institutional clients across the Nordic markets and internationally. Our services enable clients to access markets, safeguard assets, meet regulatory requirements and focus on their core investment activities.

DAR is the shared Data, Analytics & Reporting capability within Investor Services. We work across the business to turn trusted and well-governed data into scalable reporting, insights and automation. Our ambition is to make high-quality data easy to find, understand, reuse and act on – improving client experiences, reducing manual work and creating new opportunities for data-driven services.

During the internship, you will be part of our day-to-day work and contribute to projects together with colleagues from different areas of Investor Services, Business Services and Technology. You will get an opportunity to understand both the business behind the data and how data and technology can be used to solve real business challenges.

What you will do

Depending on ongoing priorities and your interests, you may work with data analysis and visualisation, explore opportunities for automation and AI, support the development of reporting and analytics solutions, contribute to data quality and data-product initiatives, or help analyse business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

You may also participate in projects involving client insights, operational efficiency, reporting or new data-driven services. An important part of the internship will be working with colleagues across different functions, translating business needs into analysis and communicating your findings in a clear and useful way.

We want you to be an active member of the team. You will be encouraged to ask questions, contribute ideas and take ownership of your assignments, while receiving guidance and support from experienced colleagues.

Who are you?

We are looking for a curious, analytical and collaborative student with a genuine interest in how data and technology can be used to develop financial services. You do not need to be an expert in banking, data or AI when you join us – what matters is your willingness to learn and your ability to approach problems in a structured way.
You enjoy working with others, are comfortable taking initiative and can communicate complex topics in an understandable way. You are interested in understanding both the business problem and the data behind it.
Relevant experience is an advantage, but we are equally interested in your potential, curiosity and motivation.

Qualifications

• You are currently pursuing a university degree, for example within Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or another relevant field.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and enjoy working with data.
• You are curious about areas such as analytics, AI, automation, data visualisation or financial services.
• You have good communication skills and enjoy collaborating with people from different backgrounds and areas of expertise.
• You are proactive, structured and comfortable taking responsibility for your work.
• Experience with tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python or similar data and analytics tools is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• Previous experience using generative AI or other AI-based tools to analyse information, solve problems or improve ways of working is an advantage.
• You are fluent in written and spoken English.

You will gain insight into Investor Services and the role we play in the Nordic financial markets while building practical experience within data, analytics, reporting and emerging technologies.

You will work with experienced colleagues, develop your professional network and learn how different parts of a large financial institution collaborate to deliver services to clients.

Most importantly, we want the internship to be a learning experience. We will encourage you to explore areas outside your immediate assignment, meet colleagues across Investor Services and develop a broader understanding of the opportunities available within SEB.
