About You

You value freedom and responsibility under accountability. You take ownership of the full product journey end to end, and you're comfortable being the "spider in the web" — the person everything connects through. You're comfortable making the hard decisions that keep the team focused on the strategic outcomes that matter.

What You’ll Bring

• AI first mindset. You reach for your AI toolbox by default — building and deploying prototypes with coding agents, and using AI to speed up research, customer insight, and spec writing.

• Solid technical fluency — comfortable in architecture and API discussions with engineering

• The ability to quickly acquire the necessary domain knowledge in freight and logistics. You either come with knowledge from before or with a proven ability to quickly learn about a new domain.

• 3+ years delivering B2B SaaS product(s). A track record of getting products to market, not just planning them.

• A collaborative, energizing presence. You bring people along rather than pushing through

• Professional in writing and verbal English: you'll present to leadership, write specs, and run stakeholder discovery.

AI first mindset. You approach every task with your AI tool box in mind, figuring out how to best leverage AI agents to be successful.

Purpose of Role

nShift is looking for a Product Manager for the team that owns nShift Companion — our in-house AI agent — along with a portfolio of platform services powering our customer-facing products.

Companion is where our product vision becomes concrete: intent-driven AI agents that understand what a customer is trying to accomplish and solve it, instead of handing them a documentation link and a support queue. This is a high-ownership role at the core of how nShift's own product teams build on shared infrastructure.

You'll partner closely with engineering and internal product teams to resolve ambiguity and hold the line on prioritization even when it's uncomfortable. Platform work is often invisible until it breaks — your job is to make deliberate trade-offs between stability, the velocity of teams building on top of you, and where Companion should extend the platform's reach, without trying to do everything at once.

You'll work in an environment where AI is part of how we think and operate — using it to sharpen research, synthesize customer signals, and move faster without adding headcount. Comfort with AI tools isn't a nice-to-have here; it's how good PMs at nShift get leverage.

What You’ll Be Doing

Companion & Agent Vision — Own Companion end to end and drive our vision of intent-driven AI agents solving customer problems. Decide what Companion takes on next — and what it deliberately doesn't.

Vision & Roadmap — Deeply understanding customer workflows, pain points, customization needs, and what "good" looks like; own the roadmap end-to-end and use AI to surface signal, not wait for it.

AI-Native Execution — Prototype to validate before engineering commits, automate competitive and customer synthesis, and spec intent and outcomes rather than fixed requirements.[JH1]

Platform Services — Own the roadmap for a portfolio of platform services powering nShift's customer-facing products. Keep them reliable and useful to the teams building on them.

Product Ownership — Collaborate closely with engineering to make the decisions that drive efficient development and create meaningful progress.
