Position Summary
Assists OB/GYN physician or Nurse Practitioner in performing office examinations. Administers prescribed medications, simple treatment and therapeutic procedures as directed by OB/GYN physician. Gathers patient information and conducts limited evaluation as required. Performs office performed CLIA waived tests as directed by OB/GYN physician. Performs related work such as phlebotomy as required. Assists with patient and family education independently or as delegated by the OB/GYN physician. Orders medical supplies and pharmaceuticals in accordance with inventory requirements. Cleans and stocks patient exam rooms. Returns patient phone calls and notifies of test results per physician requirement. Works task list and follow ups in EMR system per protocols.
Position Requirements
Formal Education / Training:
Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
Workplace Experience:
At least one year of experience in medical office environment
Equipment and Skills Training:
Must be competent in the use Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer, stethoscope, audio scope, business phone and various oral and injectable medications.
Physical Environment:
Office environment
Physical Effort:
Must be able to sit, stand, communicate, in English, both orally and in writing and lift over 20 pounds.
