Start Your Career in Human Resources
If you're looking to build a career in Human Resources, this is an opportunity to get your foot in the door and learn how an HR team really works.
As a Human Resources Coordinator, you'll be one of the first people associates connect with when they have an HR question or need help navigating a process. You'll help with new hire onboarding, answer questions through email, phone and our HR support system, maintain associate information, and provide administrative support across the Associate Resources team.
You'll also get exposure to different areas of HR, including performance management, benefits, associate engagement, training and other HR programs. You won't be expected to know everything on day one. What matters most is that you're willing to learn, comfortable working with people and technology, and ready to jump in and help wherever you're needed.
This is a great fit for someone who may be starting their HR career, whether that's through a recent degree in Human Resources, an entry-level HR role, or a strong administrative or customer service background.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as a first point of contact for associates who have questions or need help from the Associate Resources team through email, phone and our HR support system (UKG People Assist)
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new associates, helping make sure everything is completed and ready for their first day
- Help coordinate new hire orientation and training
- Maintain accurate associate information, personnel records and HR files
- Enter and update associate information in our HRIS and assist with reports and data audits
- Respond to associate questions and help route more complex questions to the appropriate member of the HR team
- Support the performance management process, including goals and performance reviews
- Provide administrative support across the Associate Resources team
- Assist with benefits-related activities, associate recognition and wellness initiatives
- Help coordinate Associate Resources events and team activities
- Support HR programs and company-wide initiatives
- Look for ways to make processes easier and more efficient
- Step in and help with other HR functions and projects as needed
- Other job-related duties as requested
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
You don't need years of HR experience to be successful in this role. We're looking for someone with the right mindset, strong people skills and the ability to learn.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred; Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Previous HR, office/administrative or customer service experience required
- Strong customer service skills and a genuine interest in helping others
- Comfortable communicating with people by phone, email and in person
- Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Comfortable working in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Willing to jump in, take ownership and help wherever needed
- Positive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work well with different personalities
- Curious and eager to jump start their Human Resources career
- Able to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is an in-person position working out of our Evansville, IN or Overland Park, KS offices.
The role can be busy, and the priorities won't always stay the same. Some days you'll be focused on onboarding and associate questions; other days may involve data entry, reports, performance management or helping with an HR initiative. You should be comfortable with a mix of people-facing work and administrative work, including some tasks that are repetitive.
Occasional early morning or evening availability may be needed to support our three-shift operation. Up to 10% travel may also be required to support remote locations or attend business meetings.
