Senior Business Systems Analyst

This position serves as a liaison between assigned business units and the Information Technology Department. This includes communicating internal business needs, documenting requirements for enterprise projects, coordinating technology resources, and researching and supporting the implementation of software related projects. This position serves as a subject matter expert in assigned areas and provides recommendations for technical and business solutions. This position follows IT process and procedures to ensure all software related applications run efficiently and securely. This position will be involved in ensuring Bell Bank meets and keeps current on the latest compliance regulations for assigned areas.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the liaison between the assigned business unit(s), technology teams and support teams.
  • Provide business analysis services to IT and assigned business units.
  • Direct large efforts and coordinate team efforts.
  • Ability to work on a variety of projects and programs varying in size and complexity with a high degree of skill and proficiency. Serves as a leader on larger efforts of work following departmental procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of business lines, tools, and systems and how they fit together. Proactively identify issues, risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Proactively provide solutions to new technical and business problems.
  • Able to quickly step into new areas, learn the business process, tools and systems and provide input on their technical solutions.
  • Be receptive to and seek out guidance and mentoring from leadership and other senior team members.
  • Proactively contribute to the productivity of the team and lead process improvements.
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of IT procedures, tools, domains, and provide input for continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Complete all assigned department and corporate training.
  • Leverage agile principals and techniques with proficiency for collaboration, prioritization, and user story documentation.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to internal customers.
  • Effectively manage business unit expectations for IT solutions.
  • Assist business units with assigned company-wide IT projects.
  • Assist project teams with identifying requirements, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Communicate effectively with business unit to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Create business requirements documents, uses cases, process diagrams, test cases, user stories, and user interface designs with a high degree of proficiency on complex assignments.
  • Assist in the implementation of new products, including working with customers to define a solution and ensure the solution meets their needs.
  • Become directly involved with projects that are introducing new products or procedures to assigned business unit(s) and provide recommendations to streamline processes.
  • Prepare test plans, lead system testing activities, and serve as a tester on projects when needed.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are maintained and followed on assigned projects and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Work closely with Internal Audit, Legal and Information Security to ensure Bell Bank is adhering to security and legal standards and are up to date with all compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participate in department and team meetings, team building, and other company events.
  • Develop training materials and procedures when needed. Ability to effectively lead in person and virtual training sessions for new solutions.

Education, Experience, and Other Expectations

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or business; or equivalent education and experience.
  • 6-8 years of information technology, business analysis, and/or bank operations experience.
  • Business process improvement and process modeling experience.
  • Test planning and test case writing experience.
  • Business, functional and technical requirements elicitation and documentation experience.
  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Experience in database concepts, business applications, business analysis principles and a general understanding of technology.
  • Must be able to travel independently throughout the company and to remote locations as needed.

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
