Summary

The Administrative Specialist/Snap2Work Workforce Training Coordinator provides administrative, clerical, and customer service support for the Registrar's Office. They are also responsible for the overall support and placement of Snap2Work program participants pursuing training in workforce areas.

Job Duties of the Administrative Specialist/Snap2Work Workforce Training Coordinator:

  • Completes a wide array of office-specific tasks including: processing registration-related forms; completing large amounts of data entry with accuracy and efficiency; assist with enrollment verifications, degree certifications, graduation audits, and the degree conferral process. Maintains the integrity of student records, with strict adherence to policies and regulations including FERPA, HIPAA, and SC laws and College policies regarding document retention
  • Assists with the maintenance of student records, processing of academic documents, and support of registration and enrollment activities. Serves as a resource for students, faculty, staff, and external constituents by responding to inquiries, maintaining confidential information, preparing reports and correspondence, and ensuring the efficient operation of office functions.
  • Assists with the identification and certification processes for students eligible to participate in the Snap2Work program. Advises, counsels, assesses, and ensures that all recipients are properly processed, with all required documentation completed, to receive training. Remains in contact with program participants and serve as a resource for incoming students as they progress through the admission and enrollment processes and for continuing students to maximize retention.
  • Ensures that program participants, especially those pursuing training in workforce areas, have their educational needs met. Works closely with appropriate College personnel, including the dean of workforce education, to maintain strong connections with the wide array of offices that impact student access and success.
  • Tracks and reports attendance and participation while closely monitoring at-risk students to provide referrals for academic support intervention as needed. Monitors alerts and grades to provide timely counsel to students who fail to make satisfactory progress in their academic pursuit for any reason. Assists participants with career guidance and readiness by assisting with the provision of orientations, workshops, and other activities geared to linking today’s efforts to tomorrow’s successes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Examples of duties

A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma. SBTCE Minimum: Associate degree or a high school diploma plus two (2) years related work experience. Ability to type at a corrected rate of 35-55 wpm and/or basic knowledge of computer operations. Valid Driver's License Required. NETC Preferred: Experience in Higher Education.

Qualifications

Excellent computer and verbal communication skills.

Supplemental information

Works under the direct supervision of the Registrar with independence to make limited local decisions. Work may require evening and weekend responsibilities at any campus.
