Summary

The Mission of the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement (LCLE) is to improve the operations of the criminal justice and juvenile justice system and promote public safety by providing progressive leadership and coordination within the criminal justice community.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized professional to join our Human Resources team. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, this position provides comprehensive human resources and administrative support by managing core personnel functions, payroll processing, benefits administration, and talent acquisition. You will play a vital role in ensuring agency efficiency and full compliance with State Civil Service rules and applicable state and federal policies. Examples of duties

Three years of human resources experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field for six months of the required experience.

Supplemental information

Job Duties:

  • Manages core personnel actions, records, and payroll processing in LaGOV HCM to ensure accurate compensation and compliance with Civil Service rules.
  • Coordinates talent acquisition activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, background checks, and new hire onboarding.
  • Administers employee benefit programs, health insurance enrollments, and annual enrollment requirements.
  • Maintains organizational management structures by updating position descriptions, tracking reallocations, and managing organizational charts.
  • Monitors time and attendance, leave balances, and payroll reports to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely processing.
  • Coordinates employee engagement events, agency badging, and charitable campaign activities.

Appointment Type: Probational. Current classified permanent status employees may be required to take a probational appointment if selected for this position.
