Purpose:
The System Administrator provides administration, automation, security, network, and escalated technical support for enterprise IT systems. This position is responsible for supporting Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, system security, application deployment, and advanced troubleshooting within a federal IT environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Azure and Active Directory environments.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, access controls, group policies, and Microsoft 365 services.
- Support SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, PowerApps, and Entra ID.
- Develop, maintain, and deploy PowerShell scripts and other automation solutions.
- Support CI/CD and automated administrative processes.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Support network security, firewalls, and related protocols.
- Deploy, update, patch, and maintain enterprise applications.
- Implement workstation security policies and system-hardening requirements.
- Provide Tier 3 escalated support and root-cause analysis.
- Document technical resolutions in the service ticketing system.
- Support Windows 11 migration planning, testing, configuration, and deployment.
- Support ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Intune, Windows Server, and SUSE Linux environments.
- Monitor system availability, patch compliance, and service-level performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience may be considered.
- Experience administering Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and enterprise endpoint-management tools.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Experience with Windows 11, Windows Server, enterprise networking, and Linux environments.
- Experience providing advanced troubleshooting and Tier 3 support.
- Microsoft 365 and/or Azure certifications preferred.
- Security+ certification preferred.
- ITIL Foundation preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete and maintain a Public Trust background investigation.
