JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineering (QE) intern is responsible for the generation of a strategic and daily plan to improve the quality of operational processes and production output. Major responsibilities include maintaining TRU Simulation + Training’s Quality Management System (QMS), quality metrics, and quality audits. This role is also tasked with identifying improved ways of issue reporting relating to the production process and assigning potential solutions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help maintain TRU QMS including QMS SharePoint site, calibration, internal quality audits, and ISO audit finding/responses
Asist in performing receiving inspection and non-conformity reporting (NCR)
Assist in testing, validation, and programming of core TRU parts (control system parts, CanBus, PCB etc.)
Improve product quality by making recommendations for change
Work with relevant teams and departments to improve products
Help ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standards
Brainstorm ideas to create solutions for identified problems both internally with team and with other functions
Develop meaningful quality metrics in addition to FPY
Help in implementation of a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree
- Interest in manufacturing and quality assurance environment required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in computer technology and systems operations
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to work efficiently in a team environment
Above average mathematical arithmetic skills
Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
