Middletown Township Public Schools is looking for qualified paraprofessionals to work with our preschool and elementary students.

Paraprofessional - Category B and C - Elementary Level - Extended Deadline
Positions Available: 9/1/2026 - 6/30/2027

Extended Deadline - previous applicants need not re-apply

Qualifications *

• Minimum of 48 college credits or Paraprofessional Praxis test required.
• BS/BA degree preferred
• NJ Teaching Certificate preferred

*Paraprofessionals who were hired and have been continuously employed with MTPS as of June 2005 and passed the in-district paraprofessional assessment are not required to meet the qualifications above.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher in the delivery of effective instructional program
• Record and/or collect data under the direction of the teacher
• C/D Rate assignments: Monitor and implement a student's Behavior Intervention Plan / Address behavior as required
• C Rate assignments: Assist with physical care of students, including mobility, feeding, toileting, and diapering

Hours of Assignment: Up to 29.75 hours per week

Hourly Rate:

• B Rate: $26.55
• C/D Rate: $30.41
