Hours & Pay

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 2:00pm–Midnight

Pay Range: $24.00-29.00 per hour based on experience

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for cutting different substrates of sheet metal. These responsibilities include nesting like materials, prioritizing and organized balance of the scheduled parts and jobs to be cut, staging material to be cut, reading part prints, and part inspection off the laser. This also includes general maintenance/preventative maintenance and de-nesting of parts.

Responsibilities:

· Follow safety guidelines within a fast passed work environment.

· Ensure work area is clean and organized.

· Ensure daily, bi-weekly and quarterly PMs are completed.

· Basic Laser machine operation. (Gas changes, correct nozzles and condition settings)

· Have the understanding to tune, adjust and refine laser cutting conditions to produce acceptable laser cut metal parts per drawing and company cutting standards to ensure quality of cut.

· Perform forklift operations loading and unloading Laser

· Ability to establish a proactive mind set to ensure the Laser machine is establishing the most uptime during designated work hours.

· Be looking for process improvements while going about your daily tasks to ensure efficiencies.

· Understands how the machine works and reacts to different metals.

· Ensure Jobs are being started and stopped in the ERP system.

· Work with Inventory team on any scrap or inventory needs.

· Ability to move to the work vs waiting for the work to come to you.

· Be aware of what is going on around your work area during designated work hours.

· Adhere to company policy and ensure procedures in place are followed.

Requirements

Education and Training:

· High School Diploma

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Laser experience is strongly recommended

· Awareness of gases utilized for laser cutting process along with relative nozzle sizes for materials.

· Understanding of how to read blue prints and parts drawings

· Computer skills

· Knowledge of manufacturing basics

· Ability to follow direction

· Flexible and can quickly adjust to change

· Basic use of inspection tooling (tape measures, calipers, etc)

· Good math skills

· Knowledge of different types of material

· Being aware of your surroundings

· Being accountable and willing to have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Travel Requirements:

· Minimal

Physical Requirements:

· Bend, Twist, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs continuously and occasionally more than 50lbs.

· Sit, stand, and bend throughout the workday.

· Help in other areas; De-nesting.

Safety-Sensitive Position: Brake Press Operator role is considered a safety-sensitive position. Employees are responsible for operating and working around manufacturing equipment, power tools, moving machinery, and material handling devices where inattentiveness or inability to safely perform assigned duties could result in injury to themselves or others. Employees must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, and must consistently demonstrate the ability to work safely, follow safety policies, and maintain situational awareness in a manufacturing environment. Safety performance is a critical component of successful job performance in this role.

Materials and Equipment Utilized:

· Hand and power tools (pliers, screwdrivers, drills , tape measures, calipers, etc)

· Computers, printers, etc.

· Forklift and crane operation

· PPE (safety glasses, gloves, and ear plugs as needed)

Working Environment:

· 100% Manufacturing: moderate to loud noise, safety glasses and steel toes required
