JOB SUMMARY:

Support new and sustaining company product changes from New Programs to Production. Transfer knowledge of industry and supply chain best practices to internal Supply Management (SM) professionals as appropriate. Supports Textron Aviation’s Supply Management key objectives and other Company initiatives while providing assistance to other SM professionals. Work is performed under general supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approves and prepares detailed MRP requirements, schedules released orders based on Engineering, Planning requirements, and departmental processes.

  • Operates as a liaison between Engineering, Planning, Tooling, Supply Chain Management and Production for Advanced Development Projects.

  • Reviews production schedule, lead times, capacity, safety stock, etc. and determines appropriate procurement needs.

  • Responsible for ensuring the implementation of all strategic and tactical objectives/metrics optimizing support to the factory, extended team members and customers.

  • Acts as Key “process owner,” for the specific Commodity Team or Process. Coordinates and facilitates meetings with other organizational contributors to make final decisions and review the status of Team’s strategic and tactical objectives/metrics.

  • Meets with Managers on a regular basis to make decisions and review the status of Supply Management metrics in regard to allocating resources to meet specific metrics or accomplishing the assigned process or project.

  • Participates in ongoing departmental and industry training and development to support both strategic and sustaining functions to support the supply process.

  • Drives solutions, productivity improvements, and eliminates roadblocks that limit productivity.

  • Works under limited supervision to manage all projects within area of responsibility.

  • Develops, plans and monitors project budget. Ensures project objectives are delivered within budgeted estimates.

  • Establishes priorities and leverages all project resources. Identifies task dependencies and critical paths. Drives simplicity, common tools and best practices.

  • Develops and conveys departmental standards and processes. Conveys company and departmental objectives and direction to team members.

  • Provides periodic status reporting to management, customers and team members.

  • Conducts presentations by preparing clear and well-organized material with appropriate level of detail for customers, management and team members.

  • Utilize data analytical processes to recognize improvement opportunities and coordinate with respective process owners to implement solutions.

  • Ability to navigate SAP with a basic understanding of the tables and data relationships.

  • Create and maintain business intelligence support using advanced technical skills over a variety of reporting platforms (Excel, Access, EDW, QlikView, etc.) as required.

  • Troubleshoot technical data failures and make recommendations for future preventative measures.

  • Promote professional and personal growth by consulting, teaching, and learning from other team members. Collaborate with peers to promote professional and personal growth.

  • Maintain and expand familiarity with:

  • Supply Management processes regarding: planning, purchasing, sourcing, contracting, transition, and supplier improvement/development processes.

  • Supply Management policies, departmental instructions, regulatory audits and knowledge of current systems utilized within the Supply Management organization that support current processes.

  • Quality, Receiving, Material Stores, and Manufacturing assembly processes for the receipt, inspection, stock, issue and assembly of components.

  • Benchmark processes and process trends to improve productivity.

  • Trends by way of personal contact, industry reports, trade journals, magazines, etc.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or related field.

  • In lieu of degree, minimum of 4 years experience in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Inventory, or other related field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exposure to supply chain processes, sourcing, and vendor management preferred

  • Must possess strong negotiation, analytical, program management, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic and sense of urgency

  • Ability to manage competing demands and frequent changes in the work environment, while managing time effectively to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate to achieve desired goals and results

  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, SAP and Enovia

  • Aptitude to quickly learn new technologies as required

  • Action oriented, flexible and adaptable

  • Excellent and personable, verbal, written and presentation communication skills

  • Ability to identify and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, when necessary

  • Careful attention to detail

  • Lean/six sigma preferred
