The Ripley Church is a rural, non-denominational church in north central Ohio celebrating more than 175 years of God’s faithfulness. The congregation consists of approximately 30–35 regular attenders representing multiple generations – while many are older adults, they are thankful for younger families whom God is bringing to the fellowship. Their desire is to glorify God by faithfully proclaiming His Word, making disciples, caring for one another, and reaching the community with the hope of the Gospel. They long to see God grow The Ripley Church – both spiritually and numerically – as He brings new people to Himself and into their fellowship.

Requirements

Job Profile

Faithfully preach and teach God’s Word, lead meaningful worship, and provide spiritual leadership for the congregation

Shepherd the church through prayer, visitation, encouragement, biblical counsel, and discipleship, while equipping believers to serve Christ faithfully

Actively engage the community, build relationships, and seek opportunities to share the Gospel and demonstrate Christ’s love

With vision and initiative, help the church reach beyond its current congregation, welcome new people, and cultivate an environment where the church can grow

Work alongside church leadership and the congregation to prayerfully discern God’s direction, leading with wisdom, conviction, humility, and a servant’s heart

Qualifications

Demonstrates the biblical qualifications of an overseer as described in 1 Timothy 3:1–7, with a genuine sense of God’s call to serve at The Ripley Church

A devoted student of God’s Word who faithfully preaches biblically sound, Christ-centered sermons

A shepherd’s heart – caring for people through prayer, visitation, encouragement, and compassionate pastoral care

A passion for reaching the lost and discipling believers, with an evident love for Christ that naturally draws people of all ages toward the Gospel

Leads with humility, integrity, and grace – teachable, transparent, and committed to unity

Self-motivated, disciplined, and willing to take initiative as God provides opportunities for ministry
