Job Description
The First Impressions Ambassador is responsible for providing professional and courteous customer service to visitors, which includes responding to inquiries, providing directions, handling incoming and outgoing communications, notary public services, and administrative/clerical support.
Essential Duties
- Providing customer service and handling requests to the residents, visitors, elected and appointed officials, department directors, and colleagues, as well as participating in regular division meetings and monthly staff meetings
- Operating communication systems, such as telephone, cloud-based switchboard systems, intercom, two-way radio, or public address system
- Using paging/interoffice communication equipment to relay messages for individuals to report to courtrooms or other locations within the building
- Answering and directing telephone calls, providing information, and taking messages
- Retrieving and responding to general email inquiries for information from residents and business owners
- Ensuring information and promotional materials displayed in lobby are stocked, current, and branded, including directional maps
- Providing notary services and maintaining notary service records
- Providing lunch breaks, planned leave and emergency coverage for colleagues on a rotating basis and/or as needed
- Performing administrative tasks, such as, drafting and proofreading documents, updating phone directories and, creating schedules
- Providing clerical support, such as entering data, filing documents, preparing mailings, ordering supplies, and monitoring office inventory
- Performing all other duties, as assigned
First Impressions Ambassador
Grade
The grade for this position is 100D with a salary range of $48,111 - $55,329. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
Senior First Impressions Ambassador
Grade
The grade for this position is 100C with a salary range of $51,470 - $59,833. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED
- One year experience as a commissioned notary in the state of Georgia
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year experience in customer service skills or front desk management
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing a second language, preferably one of the top five spoken languages in Gwinnett County: Cantonese Chinese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, or Vietnamese
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Knowledge of customer service principles and general office procedures
- General knowledge of local, state, and federal government agencies
- Exceptionally organized, with excellent interpersonal and observation skills, keen attention to detail, and proven problem-solving ability
