Standard Job Description

You will be the Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Pilot Vehicle Interface (PVI) design engineer to serve in the Pilot Systems Engineering (PSE) group specializing in C-130 aircraft. This is a non-flying position.

As the Pilot Subject Matter Expert, your responsibilities will include:
• Research and design of innovative PVI mechanizations for C-130 aircraft.
• Research, design, simulate, and refine PVI solutions for controls and displays, sensors, communications / datalinks, and air vehicle subsystems.
• Work with aircrews, engineers, and simulation technicians to design, implement, evaluate, and document PVI designs.
• Provide SME support to brief and train test crews, production aircrew and training systems engineers and aircrews on aircraft capabilities and PVI.

You will be expected to:
• Have a high-level knowledge of air mobility / tactical airlift platforms requiring an understanding of mission systems, capability gaps, and basic concepts of employment in realistic operational environments.
• Assist in the support of studies relating to aircraft operations and will be expected to apply subject matter expertise.
• Work closely with engineers, aircrew, and customers through engineering design reviews, design documentation, Crew Station Working Groups (CSWGs), aircraft simulations, and product test and training.

Travel: Up to 25% travel to customer and/or supplier sites

Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen (facility requires special access)

Location: This position is in Marietta, GA, work on-site full-time

Basic Qualifications

• Recent DoD heavy / bomber / tanker / transport aircraft operational and/or training experience as a pilot or navigator.
• Demonstrated experience in aviation and technology such as technical or aviation human factors degree.
• DoD Active Secret clearance.

Desired Skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively within a team.
• Developmental or Operational Test (DT/OT), Weapons School, and/or Instructor pilot experience.
• DoD Top Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $148300.00 - $275500.00

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
