Your Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural EIT to join our Integrated Design team.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector ranging from studies to detail engineering projects in North America and across the world. This role will provide an opportunity to be a part of a diverse team while focusing on technical growth in the Energy and Resources industry.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. Work performed will be under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You are expected to understand and work according to the requirements of the Stantec Safety Culture and in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its clients.
  • Perform structural design and analyses to applicable codes. Typical structures include heavy industrial and mining infrastructure, and industrial buildings.
  • Work with Professional Engineers and Designers on fit-for-purpose designs that meet the client’s needs and requests.
  • Interface with other disciplines and project management to execute projects per the project plan.
  • Travel to project sites to complete site inspections, working closely with a Sr Structural Engineer.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to advance your technical skills and career growth.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

As the ideal candidate, you have:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and team centered focus.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles applicable to concrete and steel analysis and design.
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in Heavy Industrial or the Construction Industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of STAAD Pro and/or RISA-3D is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and other Stantec offices is an asset.
  • Registered as an engineer-in-training or ability to register.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • 0 to 4 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry.
  • Master’s degree with focus on structural engineering is an asset.
