Peer Educator TRIO Student Support Services

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The general purpose of this job is to contribute to meeting the goals and objectives of UDM's TRiO Student Support Services Program.
  • The Peer Educator will support the academic success of low-income and first- generation student, as well as students with documented disabilities.
  • The peer educator will meet with and provide academic support and tutoring, assist with developing program, and assist with maintenance of paper and electronic records and other direct services.
  • Mentor TRiO-eligible students Tutor/Provide Academic Support for TRIO-eligible students.
  • Assist with the maintenance of paper and electronic records.
  • Plan and execute TRiO allowable programming.
  • Facilitate follow-up communication with TRiO students via email or phone calls.
  • Manage office traffic and daily contact sheets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with tutoring, mentoring, building relationships with students. B+ or better in classes in which they are selected to tutor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (if any):

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods based on student needs.

Anticipated Schedule:

  • 9AM-8PM M-F (Flexible)
