Overview
We are seeking a hands-on IT Field Technician to provide onsite technical support across multiple locations. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and end-user issues while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting diverse operating systems, mobile devices, and enterprise environments, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite and remote technical support for end users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and related IT equipment.
- Support Windows 11, macOS, Ubuntu Linux, and Chrome OS environments.
- Troubleshoot and support iOS and Android devices, including device setup, configuration, and user assistance.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls within Active Directory and LDAP environments.
- Support Google Workspace applications and services in an enterprise environment.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues involving VPNs, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, wireless networks, and related technologies.
- Perform workstation deployments, upgrades, hardware replacements, and equipment refresh projects.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and support activities within the ticketing system.
- Escalate complex issues when appropriate while maintaining ownership through resolution.
- Provide white-glove customer service and clear communication to end users of varying technical skill levels.
- Maintain inventory of IT assets and assist with equipment lifecycle management.
- Travel between locations as needed to support users and infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in an IT Support, Desktop Support, Systems Administrator, or IT Field Technician role.
- Strong troubleshooting experience across hardware, software, operating systems, and end-user technologies.
- Experience supporting:
- Windows 11
- macOS
- Ubuntu Linux
- Chrome OS
- iOS
- Android
- Hands-on experience with Google Workspace administration and support in an enterprise environment.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including:
- VPN
- DHCP
- DNS
- VLANs
- TCP/IP
- Wireless Networking
- Experience administering Active Directory and LDAP accounts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple support requests.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing onsite support activities.
- Ability to work in server rooms, office environments, and various field locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise device deployments and refresh projects.
- Familiarity with IT asset management and inventory tracking.
- Experience working in a field services, MSP, or multi-site support environment.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Google Workspace, Microsoft, or Apple certifications are a plus.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
