General Kitchen Help

BASD is seeking a dependable and organized individual to join our Dining Services team as a General Kitchen Help employee assigned as a Satellite Receiver at Northeast Middle School. This is a full-time, August�June position, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Hours are subject to change based on the needs of the kitchen. In this assignment, the General Kitchen Help employee is responsible for receiving food and paper deliveries for 16 elementary schools and ensuring that all shipments are properly inspected, sorted, stored, and distributed.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, and able to work independently while following established instructions and procedures. This position requires frequent lifting, working in cold storage areas, and maintaining accurate inventory and delivery records.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and put away incoming food and paper deliveries, including up to four trucks per day
• Verify quantities, dates, and condition of products and document shortages or damaged items on invoices
• Place all food and paper deliveries in the appropriate storage areas
• Rotate stock and maintain organized dry storage, walk-in cooler, and walk-in freezer areas
• Keep storerooms clean, organized, and free of products stored directly on the floor
• Assist with preparing and delivering shortage items to schools as assigned
• Follow established procedures and instructions from the Cook, Assistant Cook, or Supervisor
• Work independently to maintain efficient receiving and storage operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to count accurately and perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to work in low-temperature environments for at least 40% of the workday
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while following basic instructions
• Dependable and able to manage multiple deliveries and tasks efficiently

New BASD Employee Rate: $17.83 per hour
