Supplemental Custodian

The Bethlehem Area School District is seeking a dependable Supplemental Custodian to join our team at Freedom High School. The employee will perform routine custodial duties necessary for the care, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of the building and grounds, helping maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

This is a full-time, 12-month position working Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. This position includes eligibility for medical, prescription, retirement, and 12 days of paid sick leave per year.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine custodial duties, including cleaning and caring for floors, restrooms, furniture, and other building areas.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, orderliness, and safety.
  • Properly use custodial equipment, supplies, and cleaning materials.
  • Assist with the care and cleanliness of common areas and other assigned spaces.
  • Report safety hazards, building concerns, or equipment issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with building events and other custodial needs as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor Custodial and/or building supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of custodial procedures, equipment, and cleaning materials.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work independently, and respond effectively to operational needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain positive working relationships with custodial staff, District employees, students, parents, and visitors.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding custodial work, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting.

New Hire Starting Rate: $15.00 per hour
