Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our mining team. The Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment used in mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance on heavy equipment such as haul trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, and drills.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy equipment.

• Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment components as needed.

• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and performance.

• Perform welding and fabrication as needed.

• Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other personnel to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications:

• Journeyman Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic certification or equivalent.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic, preferably in a mining or industrial environment.

• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems and components, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Willingness to work in outdoor and sometimes adverse weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 30kg ).

• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
