Physiotherapy Technician (STMC Rehab)

Supports the provision of safe, effective, evidence based and comprehensive physiotherapy services, under the supervision of Senior Physiotherapist/ Physiotherapist

Using acquired skills to deliver physiotherapy treatment programs under direction from the physiotherapist and using evidence based protocols
Monitoring patients’ progress and adapt treatment programs as agreed with physiotherapy staff and ensure qualified staff are updated accordingly
Using a range of verbal and non-verbal communication methods to communicate effectively with patients to progress rehabilitation and treatment programs
Taking measurements of patients as required, e.g. of body size, seating posture, etc, in order to match a patient to equipment
Assessing environmental factors (home layout, building access) of patients whenever required
Assessing of current equipment provision
Monitoring all equipment within the department, flagging any maintenance requirements or breakdowns to senior staff
Recording any relevant clinical information obtained from the patient during the course of the examination, in line with current policies and procedures
Escorting patient, when required within United Arab Emirates
Interpreting for patients, if bilingual and required

Producing timely, accurate and detailed clinical inputs, in accordance with agreed local and regional standards as applied to the rehabilitation and physiotherapy devices and equipments used
Maintaining a detailed knowledge of all rehabilitation, physiotherapy and special equipment available to the section/department Intervening whenever practical in the fixing and mending of defected equipment and
devices
Maintaining the strictest confidence in relation to patient information whether formally
or informally recorded
Maintaining compliance with all safety regulation in manipulating equipment
Maintaining compliance with all infection control regulations and policies when dealing
with equipment and patients

Assessing appropriate materials/equipment following discussion with senior staff. To
demonstrate and teach the safe use of materials/equipment in an appropriate manner
to clients and/or carers within the limits of competency
Assisting in training of students, if required

Required:
a. Graduate of an accredited (NLT 2 year curriculum) course as a Physiotherapy Technician
