Senior Vice President, People Strategy & Advisory

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive people strategies that align with BNY's strategic objectives, by leveraging industry best practices and innovative approaches.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic counsel on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, employee relations, change management, and leadership effectiveness.

  • Lead complex people-related regulatory and statutory initiatives across multiple jurisdictions, balancing enterprise objectives with local market, legal, and organizational requirements.

  • Use workforce data, external market insights, and people metrics to identify trends, assess risks, and inform sound, data-driven decision-making.

  • Partner closely with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, including legal, risk, and regional People teams, to deliver integrated people solutions in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Support the delivery of People Team solutions across core center-of-excellence designed processes, including Talent Acquisition, Talent and Development, Compensation & Mobility, Employee Relations, People Governance and special projects for a specified internal client group.

  • Manage work that includes, but is not limited to, more complex aspects of year-end compensation planning, annual talent review and succession planning, performance management across EU, and day-to-day activities such as onboarding, offboarding, and promotions.

  • Bring strong judgment, executive presence, and clear communication to complex and sensitive matters, influencing effectively at senior levels.

    To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; advanced degree and/or relevant HR certification preferred.

  • Typically 8–12 years of relevant experience in human resources, people advisory, or strategic workforce leadership, including support for senior stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver people strategies that drive business outcomes in an international environment, ideally across EMEA.

  • Experience navigating regulatory, statutory, and organizational complexity across multiple jurisdictions, with knowledge of EMEA employment considerations preferred.

  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate business priorities into practical, effective people solutions.

  • Executive presence and strong influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships and advise credibly at senior levels.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills, with the ability to use data and insight to shape decisions.

  • A leadership style grounded in integrity, accountability, collaboration, inclusivity, and sound judgment in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
