  About the role:

  We are actively seeking a Drilling and Operational Trainer to join the Côté Gold Mine Site, reporting to the Superintendent of Safety. This role is responsible for delivering and evaluating technical, operational and competency-based training for drilling personnel at Côté Gold. The primary focus of the role is drill operator development, including theoretical instruction, hands-on equipment training, field coaching, practical competency assessments, progression, remedial training and verification of readiness for independent operation. The position may also provide training support across auxiliary and mobile equipment and selected safety-training programs where the individual is appropriately qualified and authorized. Approximately 60–70% of the role will be focused on drilling and drill operator development, with the remaining capacity available to support auxiliary equipment, operational training and applicable safety programs. This position will be a site based position on a 7/7 schedule.

  Responsibilities:

• Deliver classroom, simulator, practical, and field-based training for drill operators.

• Conduct competency assessments, field evaluations, and operator readiness verifications.

• Provide coaching, remedial training, and development support to address skill gaps.

• Support operator progression programs and independent operator authorization processes.

• Assist with training on new equipment, automation technologies, and operational changes, deliver training and competency assessments on auxiliary and mobile equipment as qualified.

• Develop, update, and maintain training materials, assessments, and competency documentation.

• Ensure training records and qualifications are accurately completed and maintained.

• Support continuous improvement of training programs and participate in Train-the-Trainer opportunities, promote safe work practices and reinforce site safety standards.

Relevant Experience:

• Extensive experience operating production drilling equipment in a surface mining environment.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or training equipment operators.
• Strong knowledge of drilling operations, safe work practices, and competency assessment.
• Experience delivering technical training is considered an asset.

Skills & Strengths, We Value:

• Ontario Surface Miner Common Core and applicable specialty modules, or ability to obtain them.
• Train-the-Trainer certification and safety training qualifications are assets.
• Strong communication, coaching, organizational, and documentation skills.

Salary Range: $89,000- $133,500
The final offer is determined based on your individual skills, qualifications, and competencies and aligned with our commitment to internal equity.
