YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Director, Geoscience, you will provide company-wide technical and scientific leadership in structural geology. You will support exploration, operations, orebody knowledge, and rock mechanics priorities, with an expected 50/50 balance between exploration and operations.

You will develop robust structural frameworks across scales, improve the quality and consistency of structural data and interpretations, and work closely with exploration, technical services, mine geology, production, and rock mechanics teams to support timely, well-informed decisions.

• Provide company-wide structural geology support to exploration projects and operating sites

• Guide and review structural interpretations from the regional scale to deposit geometry, structural domains and ore-shoot controls

• Develop and refine fit-for-purpose lithostructural and alteration models throughout the project lifecycle to support resource-to-reserve conversion, mine planning and operational decisions

• Characterize host and waste-rock units, alteration patterns, and mineralized and post-mineralization structures that may influence mine infrastructure, rock-mass behaviour, stability or groundwater connectivity

• Provide geological and structural support to rock mechanics and operational teams addressing seismicity, excavation response, slope stability, groundwater connectivity and infrastructure location

• Improve structural data collection practices in the field, underground and from drill core through practical standards, coaching and QA/QC

• Integrate structural geology with geological, geochemical, geophysical, drilling and 3D modelling data to improve exploration targeting and orebody models

• Develop and maintain consistent structural geology standards, terminology and workflows across sites

• Maintain a regular presence at priority exploration projects and operating sites and work directly with exploration, technical services, mine geology, production and rock mechanics teams

• Mentor and coach exploration, mine geology and technical services teams through regular site support, collaborative interpretation sessions, workshops and technical reviews, while facilitating knowledge transfer between exploration and operations

• Follow up on priority initiatives to support implementation, continuous improvement and retention of corporate knowledge

• Evaluate and implement relevant new tools, methods and R&D initiatives

• Manage external structural geology specialists when required and ensure knowledge transfer to internal teams

• Support project evaluations, due diligence, technical reviews and strategic decisions

• Prepare clear technical recommendations, presentations, reports and site-visit notes

• Promote Agnico Eagle’s values and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Advanced university degree in geology or geological engineering; a master’s degree or Ph.D. with specialization in structural geology is preferred;

• Professional registration as a geologist (P.Geo.) or eligibility for registration in a relevant Canadian jurisdiction;

• 15+ years of structural geology experience, including significant exposure to both mineral exploration and mining operations in gold and/or base metals;

• Demonstrated expertise across scales, from regional and orogenic architecture to deposit geometry, structural domains and ore-shoot controls;

• Strong understanding of brittle and ductile deformation, structural controls on mineralization and rheology, and their application to orebody knowledge and rock mechanics challenges;

• Solid understanding of gold deposit systems and the integration of structural geology with geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets;

• Experience working collaboratively with rock mechanics specialists on underground and open-pit challenges;

• Proficiency with industry-standard 3D geological modelling, GIS and structural analysis tools;

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work directly with site-based exploration, technical services and operational teams, and to translate evolving geological interpretations into practical, fit-for-purpose recommendations;

• Strong ability to synthesize and reconcile complex and imperfect datasets and communicate practical recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders;

• Demonstrated ability to mentor, train and provide guidance to multidisciplinary teams;

• Business acumen, sound judgement and the ability to prioritize support across multiple sites and competing needs;

• Fluency in English; French is considered an asset.

Your Work Schedule:

• Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the ability to work within the teleworking policy. Regular visits to exploration and operating sites are required.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
