Medical Science Liaison – Romandie & Ticino (100%) (m/f/d)

In this highly field-based role, you will represent Medical Affairs across Romandie and Ticino and build trusted scientific relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs) and other key stakeholders. Focusing on our Immunology and Nephrology portfolio, you will facilitate high-quality scientific exchange, gather relevant insights from the medical community and contribute to advancing our medical activities.

Working closely with the MSL Lead Switzerland and colleagues across Medical Affairs and other functions, you will act as an important scientific link between CSL and the external medical community. You thrive in a collaborative, matrix environment and enjoy building strong relationships across functions and with external stakeholders. With your scientific expertise, strong interpersonal skills and proactive mindset, you contribute to shared objectives and help foster a culture of collaboration and scientific excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and maintain an advanced level of clinical and scientific knowledge in the assigned therapeutic areas and disease states related to CSL's products, while maintaining an understanding of the broader product portfolio.
  • Accurately interpret and communicate balanced, factual scientific, clinical and health-economic data, and continuously evaluate new information relevant to CSL's products and therapeutic areas.
  • Identify and engage relevant regional Thought Leaders (TLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs), building trusted professional relationships and facilitating high-quality scientific exchange.
  • Provide information on CSL's Investigator-Initiated Study (IIS) program in response to unsolicited requests and support the monitoring and communication of progress for approved studies.
  • Gather, translate and communicate actionable, strategy-aligned insights from interactions with healthcare professionals, educational activities and scientific conferences.
  • Deliver approved scientific and educational programs to relevant healthcare audiences.
  • Attend relevant national and international scientific and medical meetings and share relevant scientific developments and insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver approved scientific education and training to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to special medical projects and cross-functional initiatives as required, working collaboratively within CSL's matrix organization.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree in Biology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a comparable field-based Medical Affairs role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining scientific relationships with Thought Leaders, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders within the medical community.
  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills, with the ability to discuss complex clinical and scientific topics confidently with healthcare professionals.
  • Experience in Immunology and/or Nephrology is highly desirable but not required.
  • Good understanding of pharmaceutical industry requirements, healthcare compliance and the principles governing non-promotional scientific exchange.
  • Fluent French and very good English skills in both written and spoken communication; German skills sufficient for collaboration with internal stakeholders are highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and within a complex matrix organization.
  • High degree of independence, flexibility and organizational skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and plan field activities effectively.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout Romandie and Ticino, and attend national and international scientific meetings, including occasional activities outside standard working hours.

About this position

  • You will join our Swiss Medical Affairs organization and report directly to the MSL Lead Switzerland. As part of a close-knit MSL team, you will have a high degree of autonomy in managing the Romandie territory while collaborating closely with colleagues across Medical Affairs and other functions in a matrix environment.
  • This is a predominantly field-based position requiring regular travel throughout Romandie and Ticino, and flexibility to align your schedule with healthcare professionals, hospital meetings and scientific events.
