Are you curious about how ambitious architectural ideas become buildable projects? Do you want to develop your skills in BIM, detailing and constructability while working on complex architecture in an international design environment?
We are looking for motivated and curious Architectural Technologist students to join our Copenhagen office as interns. You will work alongside experienced architects, designers and technical specialists on Danish and international projects, contributing to projects across different scales and stages of development.
The role As an Architectural Technologist Intern, you will contribute to the technical development and realization of complex architectural projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help translate architectural concepts into technically viable solutions while developing your skills in BIM, detailing, constructability and building technology.
Your work may include:
- Contributing to Danish and international projects
- Developing building interfaces and technical solutions based on architectural concepts
- Supporting project principles, details and building technology
- Working with BIM models and developing your understanding of modelling principles and office standards
- Assisting with BIM efforts
- Collaborating with architects, engineers and external consultants
- Participating in project meetings and multidisciplinary coordination
- Developing your knowledge of complex BIM projects and construction processes
As you develop in the role, you will have opportunities to take on greater responsibility and contribute to technical and architectural solutions. You will gain insight into how complex architectural ideas are developed into buildable solutions and deepen your understanding of materials, construction methods and building regulations.
The ideal candidate:
- Has completed at least two years of architectural education
- Is currently enrolled as a student
- Has knowledge and experience with Revit; Rhino is a bonus
- Has a strong interest in BIM, detailing, constructability and building technology
- Is curious about complex architecture and sees technical development as an opportunity to develop your skills
- Is open-minded towards new materials and ways of developing details and solutions
- Is flexible and open to new ways of working
- Can work effectively under pressure as part of a team
- Can take initiative while responding constructively to direction and feedback
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Is fluent in English
- Is available for an internship at BIG for a minimum of six months
Please note: Graduates at Master's level cannot be considered for internships under Danish legislation, even if they retain student status. Your educational status will be verified, and you will be required to sign a declaration prior to starting your internship.
