Markets & Securities Services enables our corporate and institutional clients to access financial markets and liquidity, unlock investment opportunities, manage risk and transact seamlessly. We do this by bringing together financing solutions; sales, trading and distribution across multiple asset classes; research; clearing and settlement; global and direct custody; and asset servicing. Our global network is combined with emerging markets leadership and specialist expertise, giving clients the confidence to go where the growth is and capture new opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Service a portfolio of corporate clients, address their needs through the provision of client relevant products, solutions and deep market insight, and develop long lasting trusted relationships whilst improving product penetration and wallet share.
- Manage and develop the revenue and profitability of allocated client portfolios whilst delivering excellent service to address client needs. A constant drive to improve the cost-of-service delivery will also be a key focus of the role and will require championing key initiatives.
- Originate new business through developing solutions across industry themes. Identify leads, create and implement business plans to support risk and financing needs for clients.
- Work to become completely conversant in all aspects of the Rates and FX products, incorporating Interest Rate and Cross-Currency Derivatives, FX Options, Spot, Forward and Swap pricing into strategies as well as assisting with risk management decisions.
- Identify sales opportunities that address specific needs for our clients and managing from identification to point of sale and through post trade process.
- Provide day to day sales coverage using the full suite of Corporate Sales offerings and support team members to do the same.
- Deliver services and solutions that meet client needs and where necessary leverage the bank’s depth of product expertise and Thought Leadership.
- Collaborate with other internal stakeholders, including Relationship Managers, Global Payment Services, and Global Trade Services, to service client needs and improve share of wallet.
- Collaborate and works effectively with the other Corporate Sales teams through communication, performance management and client development plans, to strengthen client relationship and identify cross-sell opportunities.
- Identify and keep close updated of regulatory and market risks. Keep the clients and stakeholders up to date with specific news flow and regulatory changes.
- Suggest ideas and contribute to implementing actions that will improve customer service, quality or the way teams and individuals work together.
- Maintain sound credit quality and in compliance with both internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
- Understand, follow, and demonstrate full compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of Markets, also in line with HSBC Code of Conduct.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in Markets.
- Hold relevant exams and qualifications.
- Excellent understanding of Markets, covering foreign exchange instruments such as Spot, Options, Swaps, Forwards and Futures and interest rate derivatives and an ability to understand and manage a diverse and sometimes complex, product set.
- Have self-awareness with the confidence to work independently and take responsibility for your own development,.
- Able to work collaboratively with other colleagues, supporting them when possible.
- Excellent presentation & communication skills, including advanced knowledge and use of AI.
- Create accountability and global standards for the solutions effort.
- Ability to construct and execute a business plan.
- Ability to translate market needs into marketable solutions for clients.
- Language ability in Mandarin preferred.
