Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our team in Tokyo. In this role, you'll be the primary technical interface for assigned customers, helping them understand, evaluate, and successfully deploy the Solido Custom IC design and verification platform. You'll combine technical depth in circuit simulation with applications knowledge and the ability to work effectively with sales and R&D teams. This is a fully qualified, career-oriented position where you'll drive customer success and deliver exceptional technical value.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical interface and trusted advisor to assigned customers
Collaborate with sales teams to meet or exceed territory sales objectives
Perform technical assessments and qualification to understand customer requirements
Develop and execute customer-specific technical engagements and evaluations
Deliver strong technical outcomes across all customer engagements
Provide training and integration assistance to ensure successful tool adoption
Deliver accurate and timely technical field reports and documentation
Develop outstanding customer relationships through exceptional technical support
Provide input to marketing and R&D teams on customer requirements and tool enhancements
Qualifications
Required:
Experience in applications engineering, technical support, or customer-facing technical roles in EDA or semiconductor design environments
Strong technical knowledge of circuit simulation and analog design fundamentals
Experience with one or more of the following: transceiver design, RFIC, high-speed I/O, or signal conditioning applications
Understanding of design variation and tolerance analysis methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface at all organizational levels
Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including sales, R&D, and customers
Preferred:
Hands-on experience with custom IC design and verification platforms
Fundamental IP development experience
Experience with design automation tools and methodologies
Knowledge of analog and mixed-signal circuit design practices
