THE BACKGROUND

For our client, an EU Financial Institution based in Luxembourg, we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong Data & Reference Data expertise to join a major business/IT transformation initiative.

This is not a pure Data Analyst role. We are looking for someone who can combine strong business analysis skills with a solid understanding of data structures, classification systems and reference data management.

This is a long-term, 12-month assignment delivered in a hybrid format, with 60% on-site presence in Luxembourg and 40% remote work. Candidates must hold a valid work permit for Luxembourg and be based in the Benelux region to accommodate the required on-site presence.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Analyse business needs, processes and problems and translate them into clear functional requirements.
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT.
• Organise and facilitate business/IT alignment sessions.
• Define business requirements, functional specifications and test scenarios.
• Support implementation, testing and resolution of functional issues.
• Analyse and manage reference data and classification structures.
• Contribute to the implementation and evolution of the NAS classification of economic activities.
• Extend the existing classification and define new categories based on evolving business requirements.
• Contribute to changes and enhancements of the SERAPIS Client’s Front Office lending application. It supports the lending business process from the creation of an operation over its appraisal until the submission of the Contract, which then initiates the subsequent Back Office processes. The application uses the following technologies: Oracle, Sybase, Java, JBoss, Rest Web Services, React, Apache, Sonar, Jenkins.

Requirements

YOUR PROFILE

• University degree in Finance, Project management, General business management, or other relevant field.

• Proficiency in English

• At least 5 years experience in the role of Business Analyst, preferably in the financial services institution, public sector organizations or regulated environments.

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a complex business/IT environment.

• Strong data and reference-data skills.

• Experience with classification systems, taxonomies or reference data.

• Excellent requirements-analysis and stakeholder-management skills.

• Experience defining test cases and supporting business acceptance testing.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.

Strong plus

• Experience with NAS / economic activity classification, financial services or lending applications.
