We’re looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to lead marketing across the NZMA group for twelve months while one of our team is on parental leave. NZMA Group is one of New Zealand’s largest vocational education providers, training people for careers in hospitality and cookery, trades and construction, healthcare, sport and recreation, business and the primary sector.

Job Description
Fixed-Term (12 Months Parental Leave Cover), Full-time, Hybrid Working
This is a senior marketing leadership role for UP Education. You’ll lead the full marketing mix across our brands – strategy, brand, campaigns, digital, events and sales support – while leading a small, capable team. With ownership of the marketing plan and budget, the role sets priorities across brands and intakes and partners with UP Education’s leadership team to turn business and enrolment goals into effective marketing. A commercial, evidence-led approach will be key, along with the ability to keep a close eye on quality and delivery.
You’ll have real ownership in the role, with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact over twelve months
In this role you will:
- Lead the marketing strategy across NZMA group brands, campuses and intakes, turning enrolment targets and business priorities into clear, focused marketing plans.
- Own the full marketing mix – from brand and campaigns through to paid and organic social, web, content, events and sales support.
- Lead acquisition and conversion, using customer insight, campaign performance and data to improve leads, cost per acquisition and enrolment outcomes.
- Manage the marketing budget and investment, making commercially sound decisions about where to put resources and measuring the return.
- Lead and develop a small marketing team, setting priorities, building capability and creating the conditions for great work.
- Partner with senior leaders and external agencies, bringing a clear point of view, strong project management and an evidence-led approach to marketing decisions.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- 5+ years’ marketing experience, including 2–3 years leading and developing a team.
- Experience across brand, acquisition, performance, lifecycle and content.
- Strong commercial acumen, including marketing budget ownership.
- Confident working with data and using insight to drive decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Bonus points for:
- Experience marketing multiple brands, products or locations.
- Experience in education or another considered-purchase category.
- Experience using AI tools in day-to-day marketing.
