About City Doctors White Cross Palmerston North

City Doctors White Cross provides comprehensive urgent care services for accidents and illness seven days a week, from 8:00am to 8:00pm. We also offer enrolled patients access to family healthcare services through scheduled appointments Monday to Friday.

Working Hours

This is a part-time permanent position, offering a minimum of 10 hours per week.

The successful candidate must be available to work:

  • Weekday evening shifts from 4:00pm onwards
  • Weekend morning or afternoon shifts, typically 5-6 hours in duration

Additional hours may be available to cover leave and support operational requirements.

About the Position

The Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in the day-to-day operation of the clinic. Reporting to the Clinic Manager, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience while supporting the smooth running of reception services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating a welcoming and positive experience for all patients and visitors
  • Answering telephone calls and scheduling appointments
  • Managing patient enquiries and account queries
  • Recording patient information, registrations, and updating patient records
  • Processing invoices and EFTPOS transactions
  • Supporting administrative and reception functions as required

Ideally you will have:

  • Previous medical reception experience is preferred but not essential
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive, professional, and team-focused approach
  • A full driver's licence and reliable transport would be an advantage
