Fulton Hogan holds the NZTA Integrated Delivery Contract (IDC) for Central Otago, delivering state highway maintenance services across the network. The contract, secured for a 10-year term, encompasses all aspects of network maintenance, including cyclic maintenance activities, vegetation management, incident response, winter maintenance services, minor capital works projects and pavement, surfacing and drainage repairs and renewals.

We're looking for a Foreperson to join our Central Highways Team. You'll lead crews, coordinate daily works, and ensure maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard across the state highway network.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for planning work, managing resources, supporting crews, and keeping projects on track. You'll work closely with operations teams, clients, and subcontractors to deliver quality outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety and productivity.

  • Lead crews to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality work.
  • Plan and coordinate daily activities, resources, plant and materials.
  • Monitor progress and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Coach, support and develop team members.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
  • Ensure documentation, records and reporting are completed accurately.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity.

  • Experience leading crews in civil construction, roading or maintenance.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery and plant.
  • Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership capability.

  • The ability to adapt and perform under pressure.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • A team-focused approach and the ability to build strong relationships.
