About the role

We’re looking for a senior Project Controller to join our Hawke’s Bay team, based out of our Napier office. In this role, you’ll help drive good work across complex civil projects by bringing clarity to cost, programme, reporting and risk.

You’ll work closely with project teams and leaders to keep projects on track, spot issues early and support smart decisions before small problems turn into bigger ones. This is a role for someone experienced, commercially sharp and confident working across both detail and big-picture delivery.

Key role responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, scheduling, forecasting and performance reporting across civil projects.
  • Support cost control, earned value reporting, cashflow forecasting and cost-to-complete analysis.
  • Manage change control, trend analysis, scope changes, variations and project close-out activities.
  • Contribute to risk management, delay analysis and mitigation planning to protect project outcomes.
  • Work side by side with project teams to strengthen systems, improve reporting and lift project controls capability.

We’re looking for someone with

  • 12–15+ years’ experience in civil engineering project controls environment
  • Strong capability in planning, scheduling, cost management, procurement and risk management.
  • Proven experience with forecasting, productivity analysis, earned value reporting and commercial controls.
  • Confident communication, analytical thinking and the ability to build strong relationships across teams.
  • Solid systems capability, including spreadsheet and project controls tools, with the ability to learn new platforms quickly.

Software and capabilities

  • CCS software experienced
  • Microsoft suite with strong capabilities in excel, power point, MS Projects
  • Power BI strong capabilities
