Job Description
Senior Designer with strong engineering background responsible for developing comprehensive design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with applicable codes, design criteria, and engineering standards established by the project's discipline leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design development process by applying engineering principles, technical analysis, and calculations to create detailed construction documents that meet all project requirements and applicable building codes.
• Execute design assignments of moderate to high complexity with demonstrated proficiency in engineering methodologies and technical problem-solving.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of codes, permits, and industry-standard software applications relevant to the engineering discipline to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare designs and drawings utilizing project specifications, engineering standards, and established design practices while incorporating discipline-specific technical requirements and best practices.
• Demonstrate advanced understanding of vendor documents, technical specifications, and engineering data to inform design decisions and ensure constructability.
• Collaborate with discipline leaders and cross-functional teams to integrate engineering solutions and validate design performance against project criteria.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in design and engineering, with demonstrated expertise in developing construction documents and technical drawings
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline
- Advanced proficiency with industry-standard design and CAD software applications relevant to the engineering discipline
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable building codes, design standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Proven ability to execute design assignments of moderate to high complexity using engineering principles and technical analysis
- Strong understanding of vendor documents, technical specifications, and engineering data as applied to design solutions
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and discipline leaders on complex projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's) in Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or equivalent certification
- Experience mentoring junior design staff and leading design development processes
- Proficiency with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced design software platforms
- Track record of successfully delivering projects that exceed quality and compliance standards
