Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Area Manager to lead wood and fiber supply for our Brookneal OSB facility and Brookneal Chipmill. You will help ensure both operations have the right raw materials, at the right cost and quality, to meet mill needs and create long-term value.

This is a highly visible opportunity for someone who enjoys solving supply challenges, building relationships, developing people, and using data to make sound decisions. The Area Manager will lead planning and execution; oversee two direct reports, a forester and scaler serving both locations; and support consistent, accurate scaling operations at both.

This onsite role is based at our Brookneal OSB location, with a hybrid schedule of in-office and work-from-home days. The role supports both Brookneal OSB and the Brookneal Chipmill.

Expected travel is approximately 20-25%, including occasional overnight travel.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific Wood & Fiber Supply plays a critical role in keeping our mills supplied with reliable, sustainable wood resources. Our team operates across fifteen states, partners with landowners and suppliers, and uses Principle Based Management® to make decisions that create value for our customers, communities, and company.

What You Will Do

• Lead with a strong commitment to environmental, health, and safety excellence.
• Develop and improve wood sourcing strategies for Brookneal OSB and the Brookneal Chipmill based on market conditions, risk, cost, quality, and mill needs.
• Build mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, contractors, mill partners, and Wood & Fiber Supply teammates.
• Use data, technology, and marketplace knowledge to identify opportunities and support continuous improvement.
• Ensure purchasing, contracts, transactions, and business processes meet compliance and financial-control expectations.
• Manage raw material supply, inventory, cost forecasts, and trading activity to support reliable operations and long-term value.
• Lead and develop the Brookneal team while providing clear direction and accountability for third-party Chipmill contractors.
• Set clear expectations, align responsibilities with individual strengths, and encourage productive challenge.
• Apply Principle Based Management® by acting with integrity, challenging the status quo, and making decisions that create value.
• Communicate clearly with mill partners and across teams on supply plans, costs, priorities, and changing business needs.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Forestry, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Five (5) or more years of experience in Forestry, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related fields.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Advanced degree in Forestry, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• Eight (8) or more years of related Forestry, Procurement, or Supply Chain experience.
• Experience leading or supervising employees or contractors.

For this role, we anticipate paying $90,000- $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
