What You Will Be Doing

Join our team and lead strategic communications & organizational change for OIT!

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead key communications campaigns that support OIT’s highest-priority change initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and execute consistent communication strategies that blend clear, timely OIT messaging with meaningful “voice of the customer” feedback.
  • Promote organization-wide adoption of communication strategies that improve customer understanding and enhance the value of OIT services.
  • Produce communication and promotional materials connecting OIT innovation, service delivery, and change management.
  • Ensure the right communication channels are used for each audience to gather feedback and influence perceptions of OIT’s value.

Change Management & Strategic Initiatives

  • Coordinate high-impact, enterprise-wide transition efforts, including staff centralization and OIT organizational structure changes.
  • Create, maintain, and execute OIT transition change management plans aligned with leadership priorities.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication between OIT sections and agency customer communities.

Stakeholder Communication & Engagement

  • Design, deploy, and analyze surveys to measure internal culture and external customer perspectives.
  • Develop clear, targeted messaging for diverse stakeholders using multiple communication platforms.
  • Prepare executive-level, legislative, and public briefings on OIT initiatives and progress.
  • Manage content and messaging for OIT’s internal and external websites.

Bridging Technical & Non-Technical Audiences

  • Develop accessible service inventories, documentation, and communication materials that explain OIT services, features, costs, access methods, and performance metrics.
  • Translate complex IT concepts into actionable information for non-technical audiences.
  • Support training and workforce development by creating onboarding materials and working with subject-matter experts.

Representation & Leadership Support

  • Represent OIT leadership at legislative hearings, agency meetings, conferences, and public events.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policy matters, program operations, and service quality.
  • Take on additional strategic projects and assignments as directed by OIT leadership.

The Working Environment You Can Expect

The Department of Administration, Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking Statewide for the right individual to fill this full-time position. We anticipate there will be an in-office environment to start, however OIT maintains a friendly and flexible work culture that believes in work/life balance, teleworking is available.

Daily, you will use Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Stream and other tools to develop promotional and communications materials. You will work closely with the Deputy Chief Information Officer and the OIT leadership team developing communications plans and supporting change campaigns. Your work will translate the vision and direction of OIT into fresh, easily understood messaging about OIT services. You will collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside of OIT, including key stakeholders within other departments and the Governor’s Office.

Your clear, empathetic and factual approach will be responsive to customer challenges and assure those customers that OIT understands their business needs and knows what services we can help them succeed with.
