Cardiac Cath Nurse

Provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. Assesses patients, administers medications and moderate sedation as appropriate, assists with procedures, monitors hemodynamic status, and provides pre- and post-procedure care. Responds effectively to emergencies and maintains patient safety and adherence to department and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

1. Education Required: A graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

2. License(s) Required: Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in New York State.

3. Experience/Skills:

• One year of Med-Surg experience required
• One-year Critical Care experience required
• Three years’ experience in Cardiac Catheterization & EP Experience required
• One-year Interventional Radiology Experience required
• Moderate Sedation Experience required
• Subject to call for STEMI and respond within 30 minutes required
• Experience in Xper system required
• BCLS, ACLS, Certification required
• Successful completion of St. Barnabas Hospital Orientation Program
• Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the position
