Job Summary

Responsible for Environmental Services at the Hawthorne Army Depot. Through subordinates, is responsible for environmental protection and compliance with environmental regulations at the Hawthorne Army Depot. Ensure compliance with Corporate, State, and Federal guidelines pertaining to the responsibilities of the position. Work requires the discretion and independent judgment. Perform other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the director to plan and develop policies, goals, and budgets related to the function. Enforce company policy and safety standards. Establish deadlines and priorities on the basis of general schedules. Ensure compliance with established deadlines. 20%
  • Assure corporate compliance with contractual requirements including State, Federal, and Dept of Defense environmental regulations and policies at the Hawthorne Depot. Provide training in environmental compliance to Depot personnel. Advise all organizations on the Environmental impact of Depot operations 20%
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient management of all resources assigned and/or allocated to the Directorate for the execution of the mission, functions, and contractual requirements. 20%
  • Responsible for executing all orders and directives received from the General Manager. 10%
  • Develop policies, procedures and techniques for the Office. Ensure, through subordinate personnel, that required environmental permitting, licensing, and reporting is accomplished in support of Depot Activities. 20%
  • Responsible for providing oversight and leadership within the guidelines of the Defense Industry Initiative Program. 10%

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Knowledge of contractual environmental requirements including State, Federal, and Dept of Defense environmental regulations and policies.
  • Must be able to develop policies, procedures and techniques.
  • Must be able to create and maintain budgets.
  • Must have knowledge of required environmental permitting, licensing, and reporting.
  • Must be able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) B.S./B.A. in Environmental Science, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Chemistry or related field. Required
  • 5+ years Five (5) years' experience in Environmental Management with executive management experience helpful. Government contracting experience helpful. Preferred

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $94,960 - $142,440. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. Pay is determined by the assigned work location and, where applicable, the governing collective bargaining agreement. The posted range reflects differences among locations and agreements; the rate for each assignment is fixed and is not based on seniority or experience.
