Position Summary

The Audit Associate is responsible for reviewing and analyzing payroll, tax, accounting, and business records to determine the appropriate premium basis for commercial insurance policies, including Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and Professional Liability coverage. The ideal candidate is analytical, customer-focused, and capable of interpreting complex information while providing exceptional service to policyholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review payroll, tax, accounting, and business records to determine accurate premium exposure for commercial insurance policies.
  • Conduct premium audits by gathering and analyzing payroll, operational, and employee data from policyholders.
  • Evaluate policy classifications, apply state rating rules, and recommend class code changes when appropriate.
  • Complete audit documentation, process findings in company systems, and explain audit results to policyholders.
  • Provide professional customer service by answering questions, resolving disputes, and ensuring compliance with audit procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and aptitude for learning new software applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex rules, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with professional phone and email communication skills.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule with two days onsite per week, M-F 8am-5pm CT.
  • Collaborative team environment with training and mentorship provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42681.00 - $42681.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Great attitude! 5% 401k match! - If the candidate chooses to elect the full 5%, they will receive the company match which equates to an additional 5% in compensation annually. Employee health benefits are available, including medical, dental, vision, and healthcare FSA. Benefits are effective on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. New tuition reimbursement program - after 6 months of employment, all employees are eligible so long as they seek HR approval prior to enrollment, and the classes/programs are related to a field at biBERK. Vacation time is front-loaded to the employee balance on December first with the vacation accrual for the entire year. Despite it all being given upfront, an employee can end up owing money back to the company if they use all their time for the year and quit before the year is up.
