About Polygon Labs
Polygon Labs is a global blockchain payments company building and operating infrastructure to move money instantly, reliably, and at internet scale, with the mission to move all money onchain. It is building the Polygon Open Money Stack, an open and integrated stack of services and technologies to instantly and reliably move money anywhere, and put it to work. Its infrastructure has facilitated trillions of dollars in onchain value transfer and supported millions of transactions daily for some of the globe's largest banks, fintechs, enterprises, and consumer applications.
Your Role
Polygon has one product in the market: the Open Money Stack. It moves money across borders in seconds instead of days, through a single API instead of a stack of vendor contracts.
Money movement only works if there is money on both ends of the corridor. That is the part most people underestimate. Someone has to line up the banks, the market makers, the custodians and the aggregators, then make the economics work corridor by corridor. Right now Polygon sources that liquidity deal by deal. It needs to become a function.
That is this job. You own the partner side of the Open Money Stack and you build the liquidity leg underneath it.
The pillar was created a few months ago and is still being shaped. You are not inheriting a finished machine. You are building one, with the mandate and the air cover to do it.
Your Responsibilities
- Own the partner book. Banks, market makers and OTC desks, custodians, payout aggregators, ramp providers, compliance and licensing partners. You source them, negotiate them, sign them and keep them productive after signature.
- Build corridor liquidity. Work out what it costs to hold and move value in each priority corridor, across the Americas, Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa and the Gulf. Decide where to pre-fund, where to source on demand, and where a market maker partnership beats holding inventory. Model it properly. Defend the numbers.
- Make the unit economics real. Spreads, FX, settlement timing, trapped capital, fee structures. You will be the person in the room who knows whether a corridor makes money at volume, and who says so when it does not.
- Sit between Sales and the balance sheet. The sales team will sell corridors and volumes. You make sure the liquidity behind them exists at a price that works. When a large customer lands, you are part of the answer to "can we actually support this."
- Negotiate real agreements. Term sheets, MoUs, commercial contracts, revenue shares. Often with counterparties who are regulated, slow and careful, in markets where the rules changed last quarter.
- Build the team. The pillar grows as the business does. You will be hiring and shaping who does what.
What You'll Need
- Real experience sourcing and managing liquidity, from a payments company, a market maker, an OTC desk, a bank treasury function or a crypto trading business. You have done this, not just watched it happen.
- Commercial negotiation with regulated institutions. Banks, PSPs, licensed exchanges. You know why these deals take nine months and how to make them take four.
- Fluency in stablecoin and FX mechanics. Where spread comes from, what settlement risk actually looks like, why pre-funding kills margin.
- Comfort with a model in Excel. Not a treasury quant, but you can build the case and stand behind the assumptions.
- Judgment about which partnerships are worth the effort. Most are not.
Preferred Qualifications
- Depth in one or more live payment corridors, whichever region that happens to be.
- Existing relationships with market makers, custody providers or payout networks.
- Background spanning both traditional payments and crypto. Rare, and valuable here.
- What we are not looking for: someone who wants a defined process to run. This pillar does not have one yet.
