Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Lead QA/QC Engineer to lead and manage all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities for a major ADNOC Offshore PMC assignment. The role will be responsible for ensuring that project engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning and handover activities are executed in accordance with ADNOC requirements, approved project specifications, international standards and the project Quality Management System.

The successful candidate will provide senior QA/QC leadership across the PMC organization and coordinate closely with ADNOC, EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors and Wood project management and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the PMC QA/QC function and provide overall quality leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, implement and maintain the project Quality Management Plan and associated QA/QC procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, specifications, project requirements and applicable international codes and standards.
  • Review and approve contractor QA/QC plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), procedures, Quality Control Plans and related quality documentation.
  • Monitor EPC contractor and subcontractor performance against contractual quality requirements.
  • Establish and maintain project quality KPIs and provide regular quality performance reports to Project Management and ADNOC.
  • Lead quality surveillance, audits, inspections and assessments of EPC contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure effective management of NCRs, observations, concessions, deviations, corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor implementation and close-out of quality findings and ensure root-cause analysis is performed where required.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project controls teams to ensure quality requirements are fully integrated.
  • Review vendor quality documentation, manufacturing records, inspection reports and test certificates as required.
  • Participate in contractor and vendor audits, pre-inspection meetings, inspection release activities and critical quality reviews.
  • Ensure appropriate quality surveillance is maintained for offshore fabrication, construction, installation and commissioning activities.
  • Support management of welding, NDT, material certification, coating, painting, mechanical completion and other critical quality activities.
  • Ensure quality documentation and records are properly maintained and progressively compiled for project handover.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to PMC QA/QC personnel.
  • Identify potential quality risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Participate in project reviews, risk assessments, constructability reviews and lessons-learned activities.
  • Ensure all quality issues affecting project schedule, cost, safety or delivery are escalated appropriately.
  • Interface directly with ADNOC Offshore representatives and provide professional QA/QC advice and recommendations.
  • Promote a strong quality culture across the PMC and contractor organizations.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, predominantly within the oil & gas industry.
  • Significant experience in major offshore oil & gas projects, preferably with ADNOC or other major Middle East operators.
  • Proven experience in a PMC / EPCM / EPC environment, with strong contractor management and client-facing experience.
  • Previous experience in a lead or management-level QA/QC position on major offshore projects.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore engineering, fabrication, construction, installation and commissioning quality requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing QA/QC activities across large, complex, multi-contractor projects.
  • Strong understanding of international standards and codes applicable to oil & gas projects, including relevant ISO, ASME, API, AWS and NACE/AMPP requirements.
  • Experience with quality audits, inspection regimes, ITPs, NCR management, corrective actions and quality documentation.
  • Excellent understanding of project Quality Management Systems and contractor quality assurance processes.
  • Previous experience working directly with major operators such as ADNOC is highly desirable.
  • Offshore experience and relevant offshore certifications/training would be an advantage.
