Senior Data Center Engineer, Electrical Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.
  • Experience in electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience in managing data center infrastructure and fit out projects and managing partners and stakeholders. Experience with vendor management, and with the use and customization of project management tools.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in estimating, electrical design, operation, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, ATP/ATS, emergency power systems and their control systems, power monitoring, and electrical protection.
  • Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high voltage substations, medium or low voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems, and associated power management or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) tools.
  • Experience working with data center equipment and environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems), with a strong understanding of start up/commissioning processes.
  • Experience with medium voltage systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work with partners, customers and key stakeholders to develop and articulate Electrical and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design plans and long-term strategy. Initiate new programs in response to need and be the catalyst for winning support.
  • Manage various programs of work, engage teams and engineers, set the pace for development, deployment and delivery of data center services and infrastructure. Develop, prepare electrical calculation, MEP calculation, product selection criteria, project documentation, quality check documents, code and compliances metrics, process maps, presentations and tracking reports to provide detailed current status of each project.
  • Be knowledgeable of power substation design, implementation and permitting processes and use technical judgment for decision making and to drive project delivery, technology reviews, challenge proposals and build consensus.
  • Analyze service performance and system performance data and translate into recommendations and actionable plans.
