Healthcare Trainer

Main Purpose

The main objective of the Healthcare Trainer is to ensure the facilitation, mentoring and imple-mentation of the MSF Academy learning activities in the selected MSF projects in the country according to MSF’s protocols, standards and procedures to ensure the delivery of quality medical care for patients and their communities and to improve the health condition of the population.

  The Healthcare trainer contributes to the preparation, organization and delivery of learning activities in the clinical areas and train the learners in the MSF projects as part of a continuing education process with most of working time in the ward, coaching and training at the bedside.

• Proposes adaptations to the training content.

• Supports the learning companions in their new mentorship role.

• Closely monitors the progress of the learners with the support of the Clinical Mentor

• Contributes to monitoring MSF Academy activities in the projects in line with the MEAL framework, by also ensuring systematic documentation and reporting of learners’ progression, providing regular updates on performance and development

• Ensures proper storage of confidential learning documents and reports according to Clinical Mentor’s instructions

• Contributes to the supply management on the project for the training activities

• Maintain clinical practice with the support of the Clinical Mentor.

• Perform the pedagogical and technical rollout of the Basic Clinical Nursing Care (BCNC) curriculum within the project in close collaboration with the Clinical Mentor.

• Deliver high-quality facilitation, coaching, and mentoring sessions autonomously, applying adult learning principles and adhering to MSF Academy pedagogical standards.

• Actively contributes to program documentation, knowledge capitalization, monitoring, and reporting throughout the implementation cycle

• Integrate effectively within the project's operational environment and uphold the reputation of the MSF Academy through exemplary professional conduct, ethical behavior, and collaborative engagement.

• Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in implementing orientations, priorities, and instructions provided by the MSF Academy Coordinator and Referents

Requirements

Education

Essential

·

Diploma/Degree in Nursing /Clinical officer/Midwife/Medical Doctor

Desirable

·

Training of Trainer or any other pedagogy or education certificate/diploma is an asset.

·

Any additional medical specialization is an asset

Experience

Essential

·

Five years' experience as healthcare profession (if possible in different services)

·

Recent clinical practice.

Desirable

·

Experience in mentoring, preceptorship, tutoring or clinical supervision

·

Experience in facilitation.

·

Experience as a clinical instructor in university nursing programs / teaching hospital is an asset.

·

Previous work experience with MSF or other international healthcare organisations is an asset
