Regional Manager - Greenspace

We’re looking for an experienced operational leader to oversee our Greenspace teams and contracts across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty. This is a hands-on regional leadership role with responsibility for contract performance, commercial outcomes, client relationships, people leadership and the continued growth of our Greenspace business across both regions.

Our Bay of Plenty team is based in Tauranga and delivers Parks and Reserves Maintenance services for Western Bay of Plenty District Council, while our Waikato team is based in Huntly and delivers Parks and Reserves Maintenance services for Waikato District Council.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of an established regional operation and play a key role in shaping how our Waikato and Bay of Plenty teams work together. You’ll lead through visible leadership and stay connected with your teams, clients and field crews. With the opportunity to strengthen performance, develop people and build trusted client relationships, you’ll have a direct impact on the future success of the region.

Ideally, you’ll be based in the Waikato region and comfortable travelling regularly between Tauranga and Huntly, splitting your time across both teams, clients and contracts. If you’re an experienced operational leader who enjoys being close to the action, understands the commercial aspects of contract delivery and thrives on building strong teams and client partnerships, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the delivery and performance of Greenspace operations across Waikato and the Bay of Plenty
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships based on trust and integrity
• Supporting operational managers, supervisors and field teams across both regions
• Taking ownership of budgets, forecasting, margins, claims, variations and commercial risk
• Ensuring contract performance, timeframes, quality standards and client expectations are met
• Supporting tenders, contract renewals, regional planning and forward work programmes
• Developing leadership capability, succession plan and clear career pathways for team members
• Leading a strong Zero Harm culture across all contracts and operational teams

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

You’ll be someone who knows how to lead across multiple locations without losing touch with what is happening on the ground. You’ll be commercially capable, comfortable working with clients, and able to bring teams together across two busy regional operations.

You’ll also bring:

• Proven experience leading multiple contracts, teams or operational areas
• Proven financial and commercial skills, including budgeting, forecasting and margin management
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to identify operational improvements, efficiencies and growth opportunities
• The ability to identify operational improvements, efficiencies and growth opportunities
• A practical, collaborative leadership style and a willingness to get involved
• A relevant contract or project management qualification, or significant industry experience
• Horticulture or turf qualification, or experience within the OSM sector, would be useful but is not essential.
