Solution Engineer - Cloud & AI

As a Cloud & AI - Data Solution Engineer, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to Singapore Government agencies, helping customers modernize their data estate, build secure and governed analytics platforms, and realize business outcomes through data, AI, and cloud technologies. You will engage with senior business and technology leaders to shape strategy, architect solutions, and drive adoption of Microsoft Data & AI platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Azure AI Foundry, Power BI, and the broader Microsoft Cloud.

You will combine deep technical expertise, industry knowledge, and consultative selling skills to guide customers from vision through implementation, while collaborating across sales, engineering, partners, and customer stakeholders. This role provides an opportunity to influence large-scale national initiatives, contribute to Singapore's digital transformation journey, and shape Microsoft's Data & AI strategy within the public sector.

Responsibilities

Customer Strategy & Industry Leadership

• Build trusted advisor relationships with CIOs, CDAOs, Enterprise Architects, and technology leaders across Singapore Government agencies.
• Lead strategic conversations around data modernization, AI transformation, analytics, governance, and digital innovation.
• Develop account-level technical strategies aligned to customer business priorities, mission outcomes, and national digital initiatives.
• Bring industry and public sector insights to help customers identify opportunities and address emerging challenges.

Data & AI Solution Design

• Design end-to-end architectures spanning data ingestion, integration, storage, governance, analytics, business intelligence, and AI workloads.
• Architect scalable, secure, and compliant solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Azure AI Foundry, Power BI, Microsoft Purview, and related cloud services.
• Guide customers in selecting appropriate architectures, patterns, and best practices to meet performance, security, and operational requirements.
• Lead technical design reviews and solution validation activities.

Technical Engagements & Executive Workshops

• Deliver executive briefings, envisioning workshops, strategy sessions, architecture reviews, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Facilitate discovery sessions to understand customer challenges, technical landscapes, and transformation objectives.
• Translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes and actionable roadmaps for both technical and executive audiences.

AI Transformation Leadership

• Act as a thought leader on emerging Data & AI technologies, helping agencies identify and prioritize high-value use cases.
• Drive adoption of modern analytics, generative AI, intelligent applications, and agentic AI solutions.
• Guide customers through responsible AI, governance, security, and compliance considerations required within regulated public sector environments.

Technical Sales Leadership

• Partner with account teams to identify, qualify, and accelerate strategic opportunities.
• Influence technical decision-making and support complex opportunity pursuit, competitive positioning, and executive stakeholder engagement.
• Contribute to business growth through technical strategy, architectural leadership, and customer success outcomes.

Community & Practice Development

• Share best practices, reusable assets, reference architectures, and industry insights across the Microsoft technical community.
• Mentor peers and contribute to technical readiness programs.
• Maintain deep subject matter expertise in Microsoft Data & AI technologies and evolving market trends.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, technical consulting, enterprise architecture, or cloud solution engineering.
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline AND 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Data Platforms & Analytics
  • Data Warehousing & Lakehouse Architectures
  • Business Intelligence & Visualization
  • Data Governance & Information Management
  • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
  • Cloud Data Modernization
• Experience engaging executive stakeholders and leading customer-facing technical conversations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Singapore Government agencies, statutory boards, or highly regulated industries.
• Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Power BI, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Purview, and related Microsoft technologies.
• Strong understanding of public sector security, governance, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Experience leading architecture design workshops and value-led consultative engagements.
• Proven ability to influence technical and business decision makers across large organizations.
• Experience delivering AI, analytics, or enterprise data transformation programs.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications in Data, Analytics, AI, Cloud Architecture, or Security.
• Design Thinking, innovation workshop, or business value consulting experience.
