Operations Technical Training Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual technical training roadmap aligned with business and manufacturing objectives.
• Design and deliver competency‑based technical training (e.g., SMT, PCBA, testing, manufacturing and maintenance processes).
• Create, maintain, and update technical training curricula, materials, and certification programs.
• Support technical onboarding and ongoing skill development for manufacturing roles.
• Develop and manage skills matrices and competency assessments.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal quality requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and EHS to identify and address skill gaps.
• Manage technical trainers, training resources, facilities, budget, and track training effectiveness through metrics and reports.
• Always complies with safety and quality rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in technical training, manufacturing engineering, or related roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong expertise in electronics manufacturing processes, systems, and production floor operations.
• Proven experience designing and delivering competency‑based training programs, including OJT, proficiency qualification (PQ), requalification, and blended learning methodologies (hands‑on labs, simulations, SOPs, and assessments).
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Operations, Engineering (IE/ME), Quality, and other stakeholders to address skill gaps impacting yield, scrap, downtime, audits, and new product introductions (NPIs).
• Experience defining, tracking, and improving training performance metrics, including pass rates, time‑to‑certification, post‑training FPY, and audit compliance.
• Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with working knowledge of EHS, quality systems (e.g., IATF 16949/ISO 9001, IPC standards), and regulatory requirements, and a detail‑oriented, continuous‑improvement mindset.
