Windows Cloud Experiences (WCX) is developing a best-in-class virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution to enable millions of customers to work with physical and virtual PCs. Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) organization is recognized as a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant™ for Desktop as a Service (DaaS) for last 3 years. With the momentum from customers transitioning to cloud-based solutions, Windows 365 and AVD have become a billion-dollar business and continue to experience rapid growth.

As enterprises adopt AI agents at scale, securing and governing those agents has become one of the most important problems in the industry. Windows 365 for Agent is the shipped platform with quickly evolving Enterprise grade operating system for agentic user, with a modern, elastic, cloud-based Windows experience.

We are looking for aSenior Software Engineer who are excited to hybrid the AI Agent and Cloud Windows technologies, and empower Enterprise worldwide by adopting AI Agent and CUA.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate Azure services that provision, manage, and monitor the health of millions of cloud-based virtual devices for their storage and network.
  • Own the architecture of secure, distributed, scalable, and resilient microservices for a major component area — from design through implementation to live-site operation.
  • Partner across organizations with teams such as Azure Compute, Azure Network, Azure storage and Microsoft Intune to deliver end-to-end capabilities.
  • Mentor engineers on the team, raise the technical bar through design and code review, and help sustain a data- and results-driven engineering culture.
  • Share in live-site ownership for your services — monitoring, diagnostics, and incident response — and drive improvements that reduce operational burden.
  • You'll work primarily in C# on .NET, building distributed services on Azure with technologies such as CosmosDB, async workflow orchestration, and ARM-based resource management — and you'll deepen your expertise in cloud compute, virtualization, and remote desktop technologies along the way.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, AND 4+ years of such experience.
    • OR equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience building and shipping production applications or services.
  • Solid technical design skills, with a track record of driving large-scale system designs for commercial products or services.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, written and verbal.
  • Expertise in designing and operating large-scale distributed services in a public cloud environment.
  • Solid coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with a solid grounding in object-oriented design.
  • Experience with virtualization, hypervisors, or remote desktop and streaming protocols is a plus.
  • Genuine interest in mentoring early-in-career engineers.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly, navigate ambiguity, and deliver solutions that span multiple products and teams.
  • Solid communication skills for effective collaboration within the team and across groups.
