Scope of Position
The Supply Chain Sustainability & Carbon Data Analyst will serve as the primary data and systems resource for supply chain sustainability programs, with a strong focus on Scope 3 carbon accounting, modeling, and reporting. This role will own and improve the data, methodologies, systems, and analytics that support supplier sustainability programs, including Scope 3 emissions, supplier assessments, certifications, audits, and responsible minerals. The role will partner closely with Corporate Sustainability on climate accounting methodologies, disclosures, and assurance needs, while also working with procurement, supplier-facing teams, data teams, and IT to improve data quality, automate workflows, and build scalable reporting and analytics capabilities across GSM.
Day to Day Responsibilities
Own the collection, calculation, validation, and maintenance of Scope 3 emissions data across all relevant categories. Build and maintain Scope 3 calculation models using supplier-specific, activity-based, spend-based, average-data, and hybrid methodologies, including use of LCAs, emissions factors, supplier primary data, secondary datasets, and estimation assumptions.
Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation for Scope 3 methodologies, calculation files, data sources, emission factors, in alignment with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and Scope 3 Standard, and support readiness for assurance and internal controls.
Analyze supplier, procurement, and emissions data to improve inventory quality, supplier data coverage, category-level estimates, hotspot identification, and alignment with climate accounting and disclosure requirements.
Develop forecasting, scenario, and sensitivity models to track progress against Scope 3 reduction goals, evaluate supplier engagement outcomes, and assess decarbonization pathways and key emissions drivers.
Support implementation and continuous improvement of GHG accounting systems (Watershed), supplier data platforms, and reporting dashboards, including data mapping, automation, validation controls, and integration with procurement and enterprise data sources.
Prepare Scope 3 data and technical analysis for leadership reporting, external disclosures such as CDP, customer requests, and internal/external assurance, ensuring outputs are traceable, well-controlled, and decision-useful. Build dashboards and analytics for Scope 3 performance, supplier coverage, and reduction progress.
Support broader GSM sustainability and responsible sourcing data programs, including supplier assessments, certifications, audits, responsible minerals, and other supply chain sustainability initiatives requiring structured data, reporting, and systems support.
Provide broader GSM data analysis support by consolidating supplier sustainability data across programs, identifying trends and risks, improving reporting consistency, and helping create a more integrated view of supplier sustainability performance.
Partner with GSM, procurement data teams, and IT to improve data structures, governance, reporting processes, and scalable analytics tools that support supply chain sustainability program management and decision-making.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, Environmental science, Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years in Sustainability data analysis, carbon GHG accounting, ESG systems, or adjacent data/reporting roles.
3+ years hands-on experience with GHG accounting and Scope 3 data management.
Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, Tableau, or similar.
Strong experience with dashboards, analytics tools, forecasting models, and structured data management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience with sustainability platforms, carbon accounting tools, and supplier assessment tools.
Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups, including sustainability, procurement, data/IT, operations, and supplier-facing teams.
Experience preparing data for external assurance, customer requests, or sustainability disclosures like CDP, TCFD, ISSB.
Familiarity with GHG Accounting Protocol, ISSB, xxx.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Travel Requirements
Potential twice a year travel within India
