This role is responsible for managing and driving operational excellence initiatives within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, ensuring that manufacturing processes are continuously improved to enhance quality, efficiency, cost effectiveness, and compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and applicable regulatory requirements. The position leads a team focused on operational excellence, providing guidance, oversight, and performance management to ensure improvement initiatives are effectively designed and implemented. It applies lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, reduce variability, and optimize manufacturing performance. The role collaborates with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and production planning teams to identify improvement opportunities, develop solutions, and implement changes. It monitors key performance indicators and operational metrics, identifying trends and areas requiring improvement. The position develops and implements operational excellence frameworks, tools, and training programs to build a culture of continuous improvement across the manufacturing organization. It operates within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment, ensuring all improvement initiatives maintain or enhance compliance with defined quality and regulatory standards. The role also supports training and development of team members in operational excellence methodologies.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and manage operational excellence initiatives within the manufacturing environment, applying lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Identify and eliminate waste, reduce variability, and optimize manufacturing performance through structured improvement projects
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and production planning teams to identify improvement opportunities and develop solutions
- Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics, identifying trends and areas requiring improvement
- Develop and implement operational excellence frameworks, tools, and training programs to build a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure all improvement initiatives maintain or enhance compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and applicable regulatory requirements
- Lead and supervise a team focused on operational excellence, providing guidance, oversight, and performance management
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of improvement projects including project charters, progress reports, and outcome summaries
- Support training and development of team members in operational excellence methodologies and tools
